Begin with clarity

Online Psychiatric Evaluations

A first appointment is a place to slow down, gather the full picture, and make sense of what you have been carrying. I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations online, with time for your questions and your perspective.

A fuller understanding

What an online psychiatric evaluation includes

An online psychiatric evaluation is more than a checklist of symptoms. It is a structured, personal conversation that helps us understand what is happening, how long it has been happening, and how it is affecting your relationships, work, school, sleep, health, and everyday life. I will listen for the details that make your experience yours.

  • Comprehensive psychiatric assessment
  • Review of medical and mental health history
  • Discussion of current symptoms and goals
  • Review of past treatments and medications
  • Diagnostic evaluation and clinical formulation
  • Personalized recommendations
  • Initial treatment plan when clinically appropriate

The purpose is not to force your experience into a label. A diagnosis, when one is appropriate, is a tool that can help guide care. Sometimes the most useful outcome is a clearer set of questions, a recommendation to gather more information, or a plan that begins with support rather than medication.

You do not need a perfect explanation

Who might benefit from a psychiatric evaluation online?

First-time care

You have noticed changes in mood, focus, anxiety, sleep, or energy and want a thoughtful place to start without having to know the right words first.

A second opinion

You want another clinical perspective on a diagnosis, medication recommendation, or treatment direction before deciding what feels right.

A clearer diagnosis

Symptoms can overlap and change with context. An evaluation can help organize the story and identify what deserves attention next.

Medication guidance

You are considering medication, reviewing a current prescription, or trying to understand options as part of a broader treatment plan.

A private virtual appointment

How the telehealth evaluation works

After you contact Campbell Telehealth, we will talk about your needs, the reason you are seeking care, and whether the practice is a suitable fit. Once an appointment is scheduled, you will receive information about joining the secure virtual visit and anything helpful to have ready.

For your initial psychiatric evaluation, choose a private, quiet place where you can speak openly. If another person needs to be part of the visit, let me know. You may want to have a medication list, relevant medical records, previous treatment details, and questions nearby, but you do not need to create a perfect file about yourself.

During the visit, I will ask about your current concerns and listen for patterns over time. We will discuss safety, daily functioning, physical health, family and personal history when relevant, and your goals for care. You are welcome to pause, ask for clarification, or tell me when a question does not fit your experience.

A plan you can understand

What happens after the evaluation

At the end of your evaluation, we will review what I am noticing and what it may mean for your care. Recommendations could include medication management, supportive therapy, coordination with an existing therapist or primary care clinician, additional assessment, or a referral to a different level or type of support. The right plan depends on the clinical picture and your priorities.

When medication is clinically appropriate, we will discuss potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and how follow-up would work. If medication is not the best next step, I will explain why and help identify other useful directions. Care should leave you with more clarity, not a list of unexplained instructions.

Questions I hear often

What if I am not sure what is wrong?

That is a common reason to schedule an evaluation. You can start with what you have noticed and what you hope will feel different.

Will I receive a diagnosis?

A diagnosis is considered only when supported by the full assessment. We will discuss uncertainty honestly and explain what informs recommendations.

Is an evaluation an emergency visit?

No. Telehealth evaluations are scheduled appointments, not emergency services. Use 911 or 988 for urgent crisis support.
